Beverly and husband Laurence are throwing a party for their newlywed neighbours, Tony and Angela. Joining them is highly strung Susan who’s been banished from the party of her teenage daughter Abigail. Welcome to 1970’s suburbia and its heady mix of free-flowing cocktails, classic disco and cheese and pineapple sticks. As tensions rise and tempers flare the sheen of respectability is torn away by the warring couples with hilarious and potentially disastrous consequences.

Mike Leigh’s iconic Abigail’s Party is one of Britain’s most celebrated comedies; beloved by audiences, it thrills and delights in equal measure.

This event, which is open to all levels of runners from beginners to regular track competitors, will feature a brand new 5k course (just two laps for 10k runners) in the beautiful parkland and woodland of Borde Hill, with participants able to choose their distance of 5km or 10km. There will also be a children’s Mini Mile as well as, new for 2019, a Team Relay that will allow those wanting to run together an opportunity to compete alongside other groups. Families and friends watching the races can also enjoy a day of fun family activities.

"Events like the Focus 10K raise essential funds for the young people at Chailey Heritage Foundation and provide facilities that really helps them pursue their full potential.”

Tickets at special early bird price are on sale now at www.chf.org.uk/focus10k

If you are not a runner, the Charity is looking for people to get involved on the day as volunteers to help with marshalling, water stations and runner registration. Email: fundraising@chf.org.uk or call 01825 724 752 for more information.
